Project „Volunteer for tomorrow“ info seminar took place in Tallinn

Project's “Volunteer for tomorrow”, in the framework of European Year of Volunteering, second info seminar took place in Tallinn on 16.06 in the Training Centre of Estonian Union for Child Welfare. The seminar included the overview of the project, gathering ideas for the project’s main events, the Young Volunteer Conference and Young Volunteer Action Week, through group work and discussions; and advancing awareness of opportunities on how to be involved as a volunteer in Tallinn.

Volunteer for Tomorrow is the only project in Estonia that has received funding from European Commission in the applications for flagship projects in the European Year for Volunteering 2011 round. The project is aimed at young people and has two defining ideas – advance among young people awareness about volunteering itself and motivate and empower young people to become volunteers; and to tie more strongly two fields that are youth work and volunteer work to design more effective strategies on how to involve young people in volunteer work, but also how to involve more volunteer work in youth work. Project is carried out by Sillamäe Society for Child Welfare, Tallinn Sport and Youth Department, Peace Child Estonia and Vaivara Commune Administration
